This is why I want to help you avoid losing your money to scammers by providing you with reliable plumbing companies and experts that can help you with any plumbing problem you might have in your facility. If that is why you’re here, stick with the article to the end as I walk you through some reliable contacts you can use for your next plumbing job.
We live in a society where trusting people can be difficult; this is why so many people prefer recommendation than engaging strangers for their plumbing-related issues.
No matter how new or old a property might be, a plumbing issue can arise at any moment that requires the attention of a professional workman. You might be looking for someone who can help you resolve the issue immediately. This is why you need to engage a reliable company to help you with that.
A pipe can burst at any time, your toilet can clog, or your heater developed issue at a time when you need it the most. At that time, you might look into your contacts but can’t find anyone who can help with that. You might be tempted to search online for directories of experts. However, the major issue is: Who can you trust for your plumbing issue?
Trust in this industry is a very rare commodity, and this is why it is best you get the right person to help you.
Disclaimer: This article is for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee that you’ll have a smooth business transaction, as people can change anytime. You’re advised to do your own due diligence before engaging any person for your plumbing-related problems.
Without wasting much time, let us dive straight into the main topic of discussion.
Why Having the Right Plumber Is Very Important
If you live in Lagos, you’ll agree with me that it is a place that is filled with so many talented artisans and at the same time it’s a place filled with dubious people who are looking for the slightest opportunity to take advantage of you and scam you. Finding a reliable plumber can feel like a gamble because you can either get someone who will fix your problem temporarily and come back within a week with the intention of extorting you.
You might be wondering why I’m emphasising more on the potential scam you can fall into. One of the reasons isthat Ii have been in the industry of property management for years, and I understand how the mindset of these artisans works.
One of the funny things is that these guys will fix your plumbing issue with a big smile, le giving you assurance that everything is perfect, then they intentionally leave room for further damage because they have the intention to keep extorting money from you. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up losing a lot of money, and before you realise the scam, it’s already too late by then.
Many Lagosians can testify to this issue I’m highlighting here. At some point, I don’t blame them because the economy is not favourable, as most of them work independently and sometimes their jobs come once in a while. This means that when they spend what they have left with them, they need to find the next job that will put food on their table.
I’m not disputing the fact that there are reliable people who are honest with their work. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not generalising that there are bad people everywhere. I’m just trying to make you understand that in this industry, you need to be 5 steps ahead if you want to fix your plumbing-related issues.
I’m taking my time to write this article by ensuring that I provide you with experts who can help. These experts are professionals, and you can rest assured that when something goes wrong, you can easily recover your money. One thing I usually tell people is to engage a company instead of an individual. I have my reasons for that. One of these reasons is that companies are interested in positive reviews, and they will try everything to ensure their staff are well trained, accountable and reliable for the reputation of their company. We all know that one bad or negative review can ruin years of hard work put into building a brand, and no brand will want to be in such a situation after spending so much on their brand.
This is why I took my time to compile a list of top companies with the best reviews on the internet.
These reviews are some of the factors we used in determining if you can work with these companies. I took my time to carefully make a list of these plumbing companies, then I verified their reviews to ensure they are authentic, and then I went ahead and manually vetted them to ensure they are real companies. These companies I’m listing have an average of 4.5 to 4.8-star reviews; I also checked their punctuality, their pricing, and traceable contacts. As at the time of writing this guide, this information is accurate, nd these businesses are active with traceable contacts and addresses. If you’re not satisfied with our vetting, you can take your time to visit their offices and do your due diligence to ensure you’re engaging with reliable companies.
How We Selected These Plumbers
Before I list these plumbing companies or individuals, I ensured I used 5 vetting criteria we used in getting plumbers to work with us in our facility. This method has worked for us as a company over the years, and I believe it will also work for you too.
You must understand how we arrived at this list. You can use the same way to vet any plumber before engaging them. Below are the criteria we used in vetting these plumbing companies
Real reviews with substance
Before we engage any plumber, we ensured that we considered the reviews they have on their Google Business Profile. Google Business is one reliable source for vetting any business on the internet because they are very strict with reviews, and any business caught manipulating reviews will be banned immediately. This is why we use it as one of our criteria.
When a business has a minimum of 20 positive reviews, we add them to our list of potential businesses we can work with. These reviews are not enough; we go ahead and check the nature of the review. When we see reviews like “Good job”, this tells us nothing about their service. Reviews like that give us more reason to investigate because most of these reviews can be fake or from family and friends. So what we do is dig deeper in our investigation.
Any business with a review like this, “he arrived within an hour, diagnosed the problem, quoted ₦12,000, and finished the same day”, we consider that a positive signal because the review tells a lot about the person’s experience.
Minimum 4.8-star rating
Ratings are another criterion we use in vetting plumbing companies. When you see a rating of 4.5, this can mean anything. This can mean that the plumber is decent but might be occasionally late to work; it might mean that half of the customers patronising the plumbing company are satisfied, or half are not. Once the rating is 4.8, we add the plumbing company to the list of plumbers before engaging them.
Reviews mentioning honesty and transparency
Here in Lagos, one of the biggest challenges with plumbers is honesty. This is a very rare commodity in the city.
People are not even complaining about poor technical skill, price inflation after the job is done or even additional charges. Their major problem is getting honest artisans to work with. When we notice reviews talking about a company or artisan being”honest,” “transparent pricing,” “no hidden charges,” and “punctual,” we consider that a strong signal for consideration.
Clear service scope
We ensure that we properly understand how the plumbers work and their area of specialisation. Some plumbers only handle emergency repairs; others focus on renovations. Some can even tell you that they only work on residential properties; some will also tell you that they focus only on commercial projects. This is why we take our time to properly understand which area they specialise in. This will help us avoid wasting time on the wrong calls.
Traceable contact information
For every plumber we add to this list, we ensure that the individual or company has a traceable address before engaging with any of them.
We took our time to confirm the official addresses they provide on their Google Business Profile before adding them.
When we notice a plumber having only WhatsApp as a means We took our time to confirm the official addresses they provide on their Google Business Profile before adding them.
When we notice a plumber having only WhatsApp as a means of communication without any traceable address, we strike them out of our list.
Plumbers Worth Contacting in Lagos
Below is a list of plumbers we believe are worth contacting based on our research and vetting of their businesses here in Lagos, Nigeria
Sapientia Plumbing — Alimosho, 5.0 Stars (34 Reviews)
Sapientia Plumbing is the number one plumbing company worth contacting in Lagos, Nigeria, based on our research about their business. This company met all our checklist requirements for a reliable plumbing company you can work with. They met our strongest criteria, which are a high number of reviews from real clients, a Google Business rating of 5.0 and a total of 34 reviews.
With these reviews, there are no negative reviews from their clients, which is a very strong signal for a reliable business.
After reading through each and every one of the reviews, one of the things that always pops up is how honest their pricing is. Most clients commended them for their honest pricing and professionalism. One of the reviews that caught my attention was one from Benin City. The client mentioned that he was referred to Sapientia Plumbing by one of his friends. He went ahead to talk about how Sapientia Plumbing was giving him constant updates throughout the work until it was finally completed. He even mentioned how impressed he was with the final finishing of the job.
Another review on the list that caught my attention was that of a client who commended them for showing up at odd hours of the day to attend to his plumbing concern. He said he called Sapientia Plumbing late in the evening, and the plumber still showed up to resolve the issue despite calling at an odd hour. This promptness is something to commend, as it is very difficult to find a company that attends to impromptu jobs even at odd hours of the day.
Here is some information worth knowing about Sapientia Plumbing
Speciality: Sapientia Plumbing specialises in general plumbing repairs, emergency call-outs, pipe repairs, and residential maintenance.
Location: 43 Omoboriowo Street, Alimosho, Lagos.
Phone: +234 813 125 7374.
Best for: If you live in Alimosho, you can engage them. They are best for residents of Alimosho, Ikeja, Agege, and surrounding areas who need a dependable plumber for routine repairs or emergencies.
Note: One thing I noticed is their business hours, which don’t sit well with me. Their business hours listed on Google are unusual. I noticed that most days show either “closed” or “12:00 AM – 11:59 PM,” and Sunday is listed as 2 PM to 6 PM. It’s best to call ahead before visiting or expecting a same-day response.
Temitope Adewale — Ikeja, 4.9 Stars (67 Reviews)
Temitope Adewale is one plumber that stand out among our list. Temitope Adewale has about 67 positive reviews as of the time of writing this guide. One of the interesting thing is the fact that, with 67 reviews, they still have a rating of 4.9 stars.
The interesting thing I find is the positive reviews they have on TrustAM AI. TrustAM AI is a powerful business directory that keeps records of businesses. This is very rare in Lagos when it comes to the plumbing market, where you can see most plumbers having fewer than 20 reviews, some of which are even negative. This is commendable for a plumber operating in Lagos.
One of the things that sets Temitope Adewale apart from the others is his transparent pricing. When I went through their business profile on TrustAM Ai, I noticed something that made him stand out among others. On their profile, there is a list of prices for common jobs such as kitchen installation, which he tagged at ₦8,000 and an eco-bathroom package at ₦30,000. This is very rare among plumbers in Lagos. Most plumbers will refuse to give a quotation until they see the job in person. Having someone listing his charges in public is a very rare way of operating a business in Lagos. That shows his professionalism and is worth commending.
Based on the business profile, it shows that it is being operated by a female plumber that specializes in kitchen and bathroom renovations. Her services include modern sanitary fittings, instant water heaters, and eco-friendly plumbing solutions.
Her average response time was also stated, showing that she responds within 15 minutes, and the profile shows that 142 jobs were completed successfully.
